Kirsten Jones who is part of our Head Office team and a qualified BGSA Instructor, will be joining close friends in September as they take on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for research and treatment at The Royal Marsden. What's more, they intend to complete this significant feat in less than 24 hours! The three highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) will see the team complete a total walking distance of 23 miles, with a total acent of 10,052ft.
The driving force behind the group's decision to take on this challenge is Amy van Wyk (36) who was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer and received such fantastic care at The Royal Marsden Chelsea that her husband and his friends made it their mission to complete the Peaks and not only raise much needed funds for the hospital Trust, but also to raise awareness of the symptoms and for early diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer by supporting Target Ovarian Cancer as their secondary charity cause.
The team have set £10 000 as their target amount to raise and are currently up to £8460. If you would like to donate to their cause, please follow the link in the button below.
