Mantis Founders Lodge is the ideal base for a family holiday with the Founders Lodge Kids Conservation Warriors programme, which includes a Bear Grylls Survival Academy experience, taking young survivors on a journey of dynamic self-rescue to find out if they have what it takes to survive the wild!

Founders Lodge is intimate with only 7 suites that are accessed easily from the main guest areas, each is a gateway to privacy and exclusive down-time. Earth yourself! Take off your shoes, step off your private patio and onto the lush grass with your eyes fixed on the hilly horizons of our rare biome with distinct flora and fauna. This is how you ‘earth’ yourself, and it’s best done with a cup of tea and our Chef’s homemade biscuits – you’ll find a fresh batch in your room.

Mantis Founders Lodge is a family-friendly, 5-star wildlife safari lodge situated in the malaria-free Eastern Cape of South Africa.
These items will all help you to survive! Please note, all of the clothing and equipment that you bring must be appropriate to the environment and the time of year. This is just a guide and you may not require all the kit. Your instructors will let you know what to take out into the wilderness on arrival-any extra kit can be secured at base camp.
