"Many people find it hard to understand what it is about a mountain that draws men and women to risk their lives on her freezing, icy faces – all for a chance at that single, solitary moment on the top. It can be hard to explain. But I also relate to the quote that says, if you have to ask, you will never understand"Bear Grylls
Come and experience the thrill and excitement of this 2 day Snowdon Challenge!! If the weather conditions allow, you will be picked up and dropped off into a truly wild mountain location.
This intense two-day experience will challenge your wit, ingenuity and will to survive in the grand tradition of the great mountain explorers. The action starts from minute one with an early morning helicopter ride (weather dependent), where a group of ten adult participants are lifted high above the clouds and dropped off at a remote location. From scaling down 100 foot waterfalls, to seeking shelter in a derelict quarry, mountain foraging, survival fire lighting and learning the techniques of astro and wilderness navigation, it’s just the start of an experience you’ll never forget – an opportunity to learn some of Bear’s unique survival skills, and to put yourself to the ultimate test.
These are some of the many activities you will undertake during the Snowdon Challenge:
ABOUT THE COURSE
Please note: all activities are weather dependent.
Formed by ancient volcanoes and sculpted by glaciers thousands of years before now, Snowdon is the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. An area of both exceptional natural beauty and demanding terrain, it was used by Sir Edmund Hilary in training for his famed ascent of Mount Everest, and continues to challenge and inspire climbing enthusiasts today.
These items will all help you to survive! Please note, all of the clothing and equipment that you bring must be appropriate to the environment and the time of year. This is just a guide and you may not require all the kit. Your instructors will let you know what to take out into the wilderness on arrival-any extra kit can be secured at base camp.
…and don't forget a bag full of positive attitude!
