In this intense 24-hour survival experience, you’ll learn practical life-saving skills, attitudes such as resourcefulness and calm under pressure, and push yourself farther than ever before. From hour one, when you arrive in the wilderness with no tent, and limited water and food rations, the pressure is on to source food and water locally from streams and pools. Guided by Bear’s team of highly trained experts, you’ll be taught to identify animal runs, lay traps, skin and gut your quarry, and forage to supplement your diet. You’ll acquire survival knife skills, wilderness first aid, fire lighting, and rope skills like knots and harnesses, then use these skills to navigate difficult terrain such as rivers, lakes and steep ground by day and night. You’ll also learn to build emergency shelters and protect yourself in the wild from attack.
Much more than a bush craft course, this exclusive experience is limited to just twelve adult participants, who must be physically fit and active. It’s the perfect preparation for enthusiasts considering any our extreme four and five day courses.
ABOUT THE COURSE
- The Bear Grylls Survival Academy USA 24 Hour Adult Courses are also run in the Catskills
- On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Bear Grylls Survival Academy badge and certificate.
- All meals, selected kit and accommodation are provided during the course.
- The course is limited to 12 places.
- The cost is $399 per person.

These items will all help you to survive! Please note, all of the clothing and equipment that you bring must be appropriate to the environment and the time of year. This is just a guide and you may not require all the kit. Your instructors will let you know what to take out into the wilderness on arrival-any extra kit can be secured at base camp.
1 Pair of Robust Boots
Walking boots or similar with good ankle support
1 Pair of Trousers
Outdoor/ active (lightweight)
Base and Mid Layers
Base = next to skin, Mid = lightweight fleece
Thick Fleece or Lightweight Duvet Jacket
weather dependent: woolly hat or summer cap
1 Pair of Gloves
Socks and Underwear
Good walking/ trekking socks are advised
Sunglasses and Suncream
Weather dependent, but high factor sun cream is advised
Spare clothes and footwear to wear after the course
Wash Bag and Personal Items
In a waterproof bag

Snow Mountain Ranch offers a wholesome environment where friends, families & groups enjoy a tranquil setting, more activities than anywhere else & quality time together. A stone’s throw away from Denver, this is an amazing wild and rugged environment ideal for Bear’s unique style of survival training. The terrain will be one of the most challenging aspects of this location whilst the amazing wildlife will provide another – coyotes, bears and wolves to name but a few. HEALTH AND FITNESS
As you would expect, the Bear Grylls Survival Academy is challenging both mentally and physically. So, in order to get the most out of the course, applicants should be fit and healthy.
